Thanks Marc Roy and Dominque Piche…that’s some serious Royal treatment for athletes.

Some pictures from the village in which the race is hosted:

Paul,
Very cool and congrats on the fine finish at Trenblant :0)
.

Great pics Dev. Thanks for posting!

Looks hilly though! Floridians and hills don’t always see eye to eye.

They pretty well picked the flattest bike and run courses you can find in the area as everything is much hillier.

Anyway, I apologize for the quality of the pictures, as I just used my blackberry and grabbed shots around the village, but hopefully it gives you guys a feel the environment and for those doing the 140.6, the place you families will be passing the day while you spend all day doing sport. There is plenty of families to do in this town. It’s not like they will be hanging around in a parking lot trying to amuse themelves for 9-17 hours.

For those who have been to Lake Placid, think about a much more beefed up version of that place in a French Canadian setting. No worries if you do not speak French, everyone in Tremblant speaks English as the town caters to skiers from all around North America (and shockingly even Europe…the ski hill is smaller, but it seems that many Europeans like the price of real estate in Tremblant where they can buy a condo on the mountain for much cheaper than the Euro resorts).

Are rooms as expensive as Lake Placid?

Thanks for the pics and congrats on the race!!

No they are relatively inexpensive. My wife found a room at the Fairmont which is a high end hotel for $185 per nite for Sat and Sun of the 70.3. It was a 2 min Gondola ride from transition down the hill or a 10 min walk.

…also, mansfieldmike posted this video in the other thread, but I’m copying it here for the visuals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2g3-cjnjzg

Cool video. Thanks for the link.

Nice to see Calgary’s own Grant Burwash do well. That’s him collapsing at the end of the video as he crosses the finish.

Thank you for your posts on Tremblant 70.3. You make me want to do this race.

I learned how to ski at Tremblant over 30 years ago: Great ski school. Now I want to do this HIM.

Again, thank you for these posts. I love looking at the pics of Tremblant. Brings back great memories.

Our definition of “snowbirds flying by” is a little different down here…

I pictured an elderly couple on a JetBlue flight out of JFK headed for God’s Waiting Room (aka Florida).

Looks AWESOME.
Might hafta think about the 70.3 up there at some point… or try to find a way to do E.Dot MT one summer, maybe drag the fam up with me and make it part of a larger va-ca.
(that whole IM nonsense is roight out - I’m retired from that distance, yet again).

ML, make Edot Tremblant this year the family vacation…plenty of stuff for them to do in the Village (pictures of pools, lakes, shopping and restaurants all in thread), while you put the hammer down with the P4 and make some Canuckistanis hurt. Do it!
