Slowtwitch Coaching Power Clinic Las Vegas (Interbike's last year in Vegas!)
Coaches....this will be our third year putting on the ST Coaches Cycling Power Clinic in Las Vegas. It's always a big hit and I want to frame up the experience as it speaks to why this clinic is so popular/memorable/valuable.
  • We are only in the classroom for a portion of this 2 day clinic. The highlight is that every coach is credentialed and allowed access to walk the show floor at Interbike. We schedule times to visit the booths and hear the run-down of pretty much every power meter out there: PowerTap, Stages, 4iiii, SRM, Quarq, Garmin Vector, Power2Max, Pioneer, etc.
  • This is a "no-drop" clinic, let me explain. There are some BRILLIANT coaches out there who are phenomenal with communication, nutrition, periodization, swim technique, run form, logistics, psychology, etc. etc. etc. but don't know thing one about cycling power. We'll bring it to you simply and progressively so that you'll leave this clinic ready to recommend products, schedule a Functional Threshold Power test for your athlete, break the results out into training zones and keep track of their improvement and need for demands.
  • This is a "mind-blown" clinic, let me explain. We ramp up so that the last presentation is about the cutting edge of coaching by power. Presenters in the past have been Hunter Allen, Jim Vance, Dirk Friel.
  • Becoming a Slowtwitch Certified Coach is valued. You are promoted on Slowtwitch and there is no re-certification to maintain.
  • This clinic is worth 9 USAT CEUs
  • It's always a kick in the ass to be in Las Vegas and to stroll around all the great bike and triathlon related stuff that's coming out next year.

I hope you'll join us: September 21 & 22. Registration is here: https://www.bikereg.com/slowtwitchcyclingpower

Registration page says "clinic is split between the Mandalay Bay and Hilton Garden Inn"

Is one of them preferred for lodging, or does it not really matter?

Great question - We start each day at HGI, but end at Mandalay at Interbike. So it's really a matter of your personal preference. I'm staying at HGI because I need to be there early to set up, and then catching the complimentary shuttle back (runs every hour on the 15 so you can take a later shuttle back if you want to stay longer at Interbike). Others might prefer to take a cab to HGI in the morning and end up at Mandalay later. HGI is about 3 miles south of Mandalay, so very quick and easy. Interbike has great room rates, so you could always book a hotel on the strip through them and just cab it in the morning. We have a group discount at HGI as well of $139 per night. One isn't really better than the other, just a matter of your preference.

You can find Interbike options here: https://www.interbike.com/...l/hotel-information/ . No need to purchase additional passes for Interbike to have access to their hotel rates.

I can confirm now that we'll Robby Ketchell will be presenting at this clinic. I'll have more him later today but let me just say this first - dude's a power savant, data genius behind Team Sky, Garmin-Sharp, works with Today's Plan. I'm super proud to have him presenting.
