4x Ironman finisher Scott Clark of Laguna Niguel passed away Tuesday evening due to complications from his injuries. On Jan. 25, Clark had been training for IM Boulder when he was struck by a two-vehicle collision. The driver, Jamie Mulford, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and is being held with a $300,000 bond. Records show Mulford was previously involved in a fatal DUI collision with a pedestrian in 2010.

Thoughts and prayers go out to Scott, his family, friends, and teammates. Clark's daughter, Emily, has been delivering updates through Caring Bridge.

Stay safe out there.

Sad.

However, as I read the articles it's unclear who he was hit by. It could have been the DUI guy or the other car.

That may be the case, however, that is not what the articles say. Unless I missed it somewhere.

Previously involved in a fatal DUI collinsion with pedestrian. Translation: Previously murdered someone with a car. Six years later driving again. I don't know was he driving with a license or without one? I have had patients like this who drive without a license after a DUI and they actually like it because they don't have to pay auto insurance. When are we as society going to stop tolerating this shit.

Scott was an all around great guy. Always had the best attitude. Great father, husband and teacher. Such a tragedy. The ride on Saturday will likely include a stop at the scene of the crash to pay respects.

The driver (female), Jamie Mulford, had three previous DUIs, including the pedestrian death in 2010. I can't understand how this person still has a drivers license.
