Arizona 70.3 in two weeks. 51m switched to Tri a year ago after a decade of running and have my first HIM after a year of base. In the past year I've done two sprints (last one I took 2nd in age group) and an Olympic distance.
Past 18 weeks have been 10-15 hours per week with 2-3 swims (15% volume), 3-5 runs (35% volume) and 3-4 rides (50% volume).
My current plan is to cut volume but not intensity for next two weeks coming off this week with 15 hours I would do 3 swims, 3 runs, 3 rides with about 10 hours next week and 5 hours before race.
Does this sound about right? I've always struggled with tapering as a runner, but then I think I've tended to have my best runs training not racing even though I've always tapered.
