School me on aerobars/cockpit
Im looking to upgrade my cockpit this offseason. I have no idea what is good what is not. I see a lot of sizes to, 40mm 42mm so on...does size matter when getting aerobars? i have a pair of visions on my bike now, theyre heavy and old.

Tell me what to look for.

First:
most old Visions are not bad if you route the cables neatly, so you might just stick with it! Got a picture?

Width: generally this does not matter. Narrower will be more aero, and lighter, all else equal. You shouldn't be using the width very often since you will be in the aerobars.

Weight: total non consideration, don't worry about it

A good test of how aero an aerobar is, is just to look at it head on, how much area is there? Less is better. Does the bar let your route the cables nice and tidy? Does the bar fit your position? Some fast ones are not very adjustable, and may not work for you.

Some great bars to consider, if you are feeling spendy:
Use Tula/Use R1
3T Ventus
TriRig Alpha
Shimano Pro
Zipp VukaStealth

If you aren't feeling spendy I generally suggest the old Vision bars.

Looks beautiful. You would need to spend $700+ to upgrade, and the upgrade would be pretty small even then.

You could get the TriRig Sigma stem, potentially, if the length (90mm) works for you, would would be a small, but cheaper, upgrade.
