"Talked to SRM in New Zealand by phone today and they confirmed PC8 production is starting in March with release scheduled for April. They have only a few athletes at the TDU on them now. "

im having terrible issues with my pc7, i download the software to my macbook then connect the pc7 and it wont read the files i keep getting an error message
I spoke with SRM USA this morning about the release of the PC8. I was told that the parts from Germany were shipping to SRM USA on April 1st and then their production schedule has them shipping out 50 per week to the people that pre-ordered them. They have around 200 pre-orders at this time.
German review says in the last paragraph that the GPS isn't perfect and suggests to continue to use the ANT+ speed sensor.
translation via Google translator: "Even when "scour" the PC8 and the features provided by the supplied Device Agent I was pleasantly surprised. The menu navigation, both on the device itself, as well as in the software is very intuitive and significantly improved compared to the PC7. In addition, the wide range of options regarding the displayed workout metrics (power, pulse, TSS, ...) and the free disposition on the screen, almost all needs for the athlete leaves. Also, the pair with the ANT + enabled power meters and sensors for cadence and speed, as well as the switch to another profile bike was quick and easy. Only the actual chest strap Suunto read will not pair with the PC8, what does it matter that the ANT protocol is no longer supported. Additional cost, the new Power Control is supplied with its own ANT + compatible chest strap of SRM. What I noticed when driving with the PC8, is that the GPS function is really only for recording the route. The displayed speed makes partially but very strong deviations clearly that stand out even without a comparison value by another cycling computer. Therefore, you should continue to do in terms of speed on the Suunto speed sensor. Otherwise, the new Power Control works with the known precision and reliability of its predecessor and even offers a few extras, like the very successful, graphical representation of the amount indicated on the display."
