Running hat recommendations

I've got this hat that I love- received it as part of a heat stress study I did a few years back and it's made by Mission. It's super light, does a great job at wicking away moisture, comfortable... everything you could ask for in a hat except for one detail. It has one of those nubby things on the top that is now leaching rust.

I'm ready to get a new hat and I am really tempted to just get a new Mission hat. Does anyone know if they have updated this particular one to NOT include the metal thing on the top? https://www.mission.com/...t?variant=2869873156

What is your favorite hat?

I'm a big fan of almost everything Ciel does: https://cieleathletics.com/

Light, don't get heavy during a sweaty run, and I think they look cool with lots and lots of options.

Good find but that thing is hideous and my wife will hate me for it ;). Sold. Undoubtedly the perfect hat for my upcoming ultra (tri) where temps can often top 40 degrees C.

I'm a long time running hat wearer and have a big head. I have never found anything more comfortable for a big head than a older saucony hat with a draw string in the back. I bought a fancy sugoi hat that barely velcros with my big head. I also tried a merino wool hat that is flexfit and it's terribly confining but looks cool. The merino hat also cause rain that runs down your face to taste aweful; which can't be good. Here is the best hat I have used, I have wore it for a 12 hour ultra and it is secure without being confining. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/...-speed-run-cap-ss13/

I wear the 2XU running (I believe its called ICEX, or something like that), and the Under Armour heat gear hat. I have a huge dome (a shade over 7 5/8 in baseball hats!), so its been tough to finad anything the fits and is comfortable. These two have been decent.

I am interested in this do-rag/bandana thing that Andy Potts wears. Does anyone know what the heck this is, and whether its available reatil?

I don't know what brand his is, but look up junk brands headbands. However, these don't protect the top of your head, which is what I need.

Try Outdoor Research. They have a few to choose from. I did 16 miles in my Sun Runner hat yesterday and completely forgot I was wearing it.

I'm using Headsweats hats and visors for past two years. They have great terry cloth band inside and wick away moisture like there is no tomorrow. All the sweat collects in the brim so it is not in your eyes, once you lean forward for some time you see it dripping down away from your face. I've run marathons in them and they did great job. If you don't want to commit to higher price regular product, they have "grab bag" for $5 and you'll receive random hat from past events or randomly chosen color. I always tell them it is for a guy and they send me decent colors. These hats are really light and withstand regular washing with your sports clothes.

Ditto. Well designed and crafted, like all things Roka.

I believe it is just a half buff. I run with half buffs pretty regularly. They are pretty good.

Bought the road ID headsweats visor a long time ago. Probably needs to be replaced but it has performed admirably.

I still lapped everyone on the couch!

Seconded. I have a huge head (size 7 7/8) and the Sun Runner in XL is amazing.

Those look pretty cool. I sweat buckets and currently use a plain sweatband. May have to try these.

Apart from the Asics logo, that looks similar to those Mission cooling things that are sold all over the place.
