We know Shimano has patents for wireless shifting. Question is if they feel now is the right time to bring it to market, or wait and see how SRAM wireless does first.

I'd like to see Shimano bring 105 Di2 to market and make electronic groupset even more affordable.

Or come up with a better triathlon specific integration than what I've seen of the SRAM tri unit.

Isn't the 6870 and 9070 TT setup integration spot on? Sure if your frame is from before Di2 time period you are SOL unless willing to DIY and drill holes. But the Di2 integration is spot on. Especially if you go with internal battery and have the ability to hide junction a out of the way.

I was talking about SRAMs wireless integration from the pic I say it looked like there was a huge junction box on the stem.

If you're going to post about an imaginary group and not link any information, at least have the decency to make some up.

I heard that before releasing EI2, Shimano will be launching a gorilla marketing plan touting the benefits of wired shifting. Pro riders will then test EI2 for 3 years before consumers get bombarded with social media posts hailing the impending group as superior even though product will not ship for a further 7 months.
