Rollers Platform Build (warning lots of pics)

I'll post it here too. I'm a bit happy with this. This is two years in the making. I've had surgery and sometimes after a Dr's appointment I'm a bit not-quite-as-stable-as-I'd-like so I decided I need the fork stand occasionally.

The original build:

First finished:

Cut outs in the front for use with the fork stand:

With the fork stand in place:

Using a trainer with the fork stand. The 2X4 is so I don't get dents in the wheel from it sitting on the drum:

With the cut outs in place as bumpers, using rollers:

With the trainer using a riser block:

Anyone else build a roller platform? I am not too interested in the front fork option. My primary goal to to make it easier to get on/off the bike. I have an older inside ride. Whenever I get on/off the bike, I have to be careful where I step as stepping on a metal frame with bike shoes is likely to result in a Bambi on ice scenario. To complicate matters, the platform needs to be somewhat easy to move and be aesthetically pleasing (small workout room & I share it with my wife). Right now, I am just thinking of bolting a piece of hardwood to the inner roller frame (i.e. between the 1st and 2nd drums and covering it with a non-slip pad (e.g. yoga mat). I'm sure some STers have much better ideas.

Ahh...a well executed example sunroom/garage/fitness-centre/kitchen/living room hybrid. Its all the rage in interior design right now.

If that's towards me, huh?

That's right beside the patio door, the shelves are for spices for the grill outside. Kitchen's on another floor and don't have a garage. If anything this is a rec room.
