I am going to be spending some time in Richmond and wondered if there is any good riding to be had from downtown early in the am. Won't have much time due to work so it would only make sense to bring the bike if I could get in a good 1:30 ride early am before work straight from my hotel downtown - don't know the area well enough to know if that is logistically feasible. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Bryan Park is downtown and has a loop for cycling. Just Google it. They also hold a weekly training race series in the park.

Carytown Bicycle is also very involved and probably has info on rides and routes.

Richmond is fairly bike friendly so you shouldn't have too many problems.

Road bike or tri-bike? For tri, google Richmond Tri Club.
For road (in addition to the RABA site), Fast rides from Deep Run High School on Tuesday at 6 pm and Saturday at 8:30 am. These are usually 22+ and they will not wait. If you decide to do next week's Tuesday ride, PM me.
