I am looking for a hat for running. I sweat a lot and need the protection from the sun for my folically challegened head.

TIA

I go through hats like .......well, like hats.

Best running hat I've found is a North Face Visor. Best thing to keep sweat out of my eyes is the compression band thingy I ordered from the IM store. When it gets soaked, peel it off your head and wring it out with your hand.....and it's good for another round.

Neither of these is the "coolest looking" option. They just work.

I use this:

The flap in the back gets fairly cool either by sweat or water at aid stations / etc, and it blocks the sun as well. Plus you are easily recognized as that dude in the Sahara hat at all races.

I have a few colours of this hat. Bought cheap at costco. They work ok, easy to clean, light weight.

My vote is the Salomon XA+ cap. Very light, wicks sweat well out to the brim, removable sun cape, and most importantly, fit my big noggin.

I have a shaved head and am always concerned about sun exposure. That being said, I've had no issues with burning or odd tans using trucker hat styles. My favourites are boco gear and Ciele (example: https://cieleathletics.com/...p-run-love-whitaker/) . Both well made, wash fairly easily (I put my Ciele's through the wash in a mesh bag). I also like the look of these over the traditional running hats. I have the Saloman hat posted above too. The brim is too curved for me and it interferes with my sunglasses so I only use in darker conditions but it is very lightweight and comfortable.

Our local running club got the Headsweats race hat and I've really liked it; ventilated, super absorbent, and inexpensive. I find it disappears on my head which is exactly what I want during a run.

+1. This is my go-to for hot and/or humid runs and races. Last race was a double marathon with temps getting close to 40 C and it rocked. For regular training runs I wear a variety of trucker hats so that the De Soto cap doesn't wear out.

My wife really loves her Roka cap and it looks pretty cool.

I had one made by Saucony. It cost like $20 or something and I really loved it. Soft. Light. Did the job, and I felt like it really wicked sweat away. It finally got too gnarly.
I kept meaning to buy another one as soon as I wore out all the freebies I got from other races.
I never ran out.

Now my goto is a cheap visor. I like it. My other is a full hat. All white. It's getting grungy and it doesn't do a good job with sweat. Except on really long runs, it starts to drip off the bill in one particular spot. It gives me something to do. Watching a drip form and waiting for it to actually fall.
