Workouts are shorter now that race season is over with, so I'll start reading again.

What do you guys recommend?

Doesn't have to be technical training stuff, I like reading inspirational stuff as well.

Once a Runner! Though remember Quenton Cassidy is a fictional character before you go crank out 60x400 in the middle of a 140 mile week.

Iron War is awesome, reading it now. Kind of like Born to Run I'm wondering why I didn't read it sooner. Also enjoyed Overthinking the Marathon and Into Thin Air (mountaineering).

The Rider by Tim Krabbé

Nothing I've read better captures the essence of endurance sports. It's a meditation on the toil and thrill of racing, told through one man's stream of consciousness over the course of a single bike race.

"If there's one book every cyclist should read, it's The Rider by Tim Krabbé. Just like knowing the basic skill of how to fix a puncture, this should be mandatory reading for every cyclist." -Cycling Tips

It happened on the way to war.

College student starts non profit in the slum in Kenya while on rotc scholarship at N. Carolina. Then to the marines in intel, including a tour in Iraq. Absolutely amazing story

This is the non profit:

The boys in the boat is probably one of the best books I have ever read.

I though both of these books by Sheila Taormina ( olympic swimmer, olympic triathlete, and olympic modern pentathlon ) about swimming technique were excellent. I finally understand the high elbow catch and the application of sculling within the freestyle stroke. Little things that have made a big difference
