The only inkling I've seen is from Damon who said that a Scott Plasma Premium is much faster than a TM01 but that he really couldn't divulge any more information. So theres that one tidbit...

I have a good idea, that based on *MY* set-up it is competitive in the aero department. In 2010, I rode a P3C, so that is my baseline bike. In 2011, I rode a nose-cone Shiv. I was consistently 3 min faster on a HIM and 6 in faster on an IM with the same power as the P3. I didn't measure this scientifically (I.e. I didn't calculate a CdA), but this was based on my general speed vs. power correlation for both training rides and race set-up. In 2012, I rode a BMC TM01. My times were consistent with the nose-cone Shiv with the same power.
So is it absolutely the fastest bike out there? I have no idea, but given my real world observations, it IS in the same ballpark as the other superbikes in aero-ness, and it is much more comfortable than the Shiv.

Thanks. After I posted my question I got this by email from someone that has been doing some tunnel testing
"the new TM01 is pretty aero. We did not do any bike only testing though. Our aero guy says it is one of the best new bikes. In the same plane as the P5 Cervelo and the Specialized Shiv"
Seems to match your findings

Agree, it looks pretty ugly but it's only very slightly over SRAM's recommended length. Worth it for better shifting?

I've heard through the grapevine that the P5 isn't really that much faster than a P4. After seeing this comment I tried to find an old article from when the P4 came out about how many seconds it would save you in a 40k, Ironman, etc. The best I could find was Tom Demerly's old article. According to Tom Demerly's article, the theoretical difference between a P3 and a P4 in an Ironman would be about... 6 minutes.

A query about getting access to the rear brake pad holder on the drive side.
I'm running a SRAM Quarq powermeter with Red rings, which means that the drive side brake pad holder bolt isn't accessible. I've tried filing down a 4mm allen key to slip in next to the chainstay and behind the big chainring, but it isn't easy to get proper leverage. My LBS suggested changing the big chainring for another type which is not "filled" in (e.g a round Rotor ring, SRAM Force ring or an early Red ring) in order to get access to the bolt. Has anyone tried this? Will it even work? Seems that the bolt is still right behind the teeth of the outer ring?

I'm running the same crank and I just take the Quarq off to get to the brake. It's pretty quick and easy.

Did you guys go the epoxy route for the magnets on your Quarq's?

Gotcha, thanks for sharing that.
I currently have the 5 port but I'm wondering if there is a cleaner way to run it. I may look at replicating your setup but then I loose the ability to charge the battery without removing the wheels.

Gorgeous! She is beautiful!
Does anybody ride a size small frame, and/or pictures of one? Been trying to decide between a M-L and Small frame size.
I'm 5'7 with about a 32.75 inch inseam.
