Quick PowerCrank Question
Date: Wednesday, 15 October 2003, at 8:44 a.m.

I have the option to buy some PC's. But they are the Campy BB kind, not the Shimano. I have full Ultegra on my bike.

The guy that is selling them is offering them WITH a Campy BB and chainrings.

Can I just switch out the BB, cranks, and chainrings on my otherwise Ultegra setup ?? Will I run into problems with my F. Derailer? or anything else ?

He's selling it (almost new) for $500US...good deal ??

Thanks Trev

You should be ok. The front derailleur won't give you any problems. However, there could be a problem with the chainrings. I think that the campy 10 chainring is thinner than the shimano 9 speed stuff. All you'd have to do, though, is get some campy 9 speed rings. And if you decide not to buy them, I'm in the market for power cranks, and have a campy bike. Just drop me a line, and they are sold. Hope this info helps.

You should not have a problem, especially if it is Campy nine speed. Possible problem with Campy 10 but it will probably work fine. The only issue will be changing back and forth for racing. Big pain in the butt to change BB too, unless you have two bikes, one reserved for racing.
