Joe Friel and Hunter Peaks both have good books, but if you just go to their respective websites and blogs, you can probably find beginner info on any topic you're interested. Joe Friel's is joefrielsblog.com I think.

But training with power is currently an active area of research. Don't read anything you find as "definitive" but interpret it as "the best we have right now".

Dr Skiba's books, on his website, are really easy to understand
