Now I just wonder if any tri bike has enough room in the rear to run it...

Potentially fast and comfy, for sure. Clearance could be an issue but so could protection.

Granted, we don't race on cobbles, but was this the rubber underneath Sagan as he double flatted in Roubaix? Not sure if Stybar ran the same setup...

Just curious

It looks like Sagan, Stybar, and Boonen were all using some version of a Turbo Cotton tubular (and probably their teammates). Those sidewalls are easy to spot in pictures.

Tough to say if these are coming to market, either in clincher or tubular format.

Fwiw, article says that they are toughened up, further reinforcement in casing.

Clearance on a Shiv is not a problem: I've been training on 28mm Conti Gatorskins for years.

What rims out of curiosity? Contis usually run pretty wide so that's great news.

Zipp FC404, and ProfileDesign 38-TwentyFour (above).

There's actually more room on my Shiv than on my Tarmac b/t the tire and inside of the chainstays.
