Paul Kaye...amazing at "HOT Corner"
I'm not sure how many were at Kona this year, but it was my first time having the pleasure to hear the announcer Paul Kaye do his stuff! WOW, amazing talent, as he speaks many languages and his enthusiasm was incredible. I stayed there quite a while photographing and was truly impressed by his talents and energy. He sure enhanced the "hot corner" for spectators and I'm sure he helped more than a few competitors. I just wanted to give a shout out to Paul.......maybe ST can do a profile or interview, as we here in the US don't hear much of the other country's stars behind the scenes.....

Yes, who is he?

Only found some English comedian with the same name by doing a quick Google search.

Ah I see. Don't know if he also does their videos but I definitely prefer them to those done by the normal IM channel on YouTube.

I think he's South Africa based? Anyway, he speaks many languages, german, english, japanese, maybe more, and was shouting to athletes in many languages. He was incredibly entertaining and knowledgeable. I really loved his energy and passion and he was a real delight to listen to for a long time, as some can get a bit tiring.

Hmm. I did Ironman Regensburg in 2011 and the announcer there was multilingual and hands down the best I've ever heard. I wonder if it was him?

I was thinking the same thing about the Hot Corner guy! I enjoyed that.

there were also some guys at one of the aid stations, mile 14/24, who were hilariously funny, like two radio DJs. By that point I was walking and really enjoyed their stuff.

I'm sure everyone also enjoyed the people at the top of Mark and Dave Hill... tons of energy and great music!

Almost certainly, he's been doing the European tour for a long time... I believe he did my IM in Austria back in 06 although I didn't know him.

He's great- very knowledgeable and genuinely warm hearted and enthusiastic.

Very pleased for him he got to go do Kona this year.
