This pretty much epitomizes the bs of this site. There are no independent numbers, and what numbers I do see are pretty much the same. Seems ridiculous to me. Basically, the whole process works on marketing and mob mentality of a couple of posters.

While I'm annoyed with Spesh for bad business practices and seemingly excessive lawsuits, I do like the innovation of the Shiv. I appreciate the work of Trek as well. They really push to try different frame designs. The only envelope cervelo is pushing is testing my boredom. Snore.

you haven't even seen the damn bike yet, unless you believe that picture is actually a leak.

besides, what do you expect them to do? it's a bike, not a spaceship. it has a frame and two wheels and a seat and some handlebars. the tubes might be a little bigger, there might be a draft box or an aero water bottle...but ultimately it's a new version of the same piece of equipment. same is true of the shiv, really.

I think your post better epitomizes the BS here, passing judgment on whether or not Cervelo has 'innovated' based on a spy shot that may, or may not be the P5 and either way, offers us no detail whatsoever

Here's what I think everyone else missed about this pic, and the P5:
That non-drive side seat stay. It will not exist on the actual P5. It appears to be an after the fact add on meant to hide the fact that the bike pictured here is a single seat stay design. Car companies do this all the time. It isn't even the same color as the rest of the frame.
Your welcome.

Any idea where/when this pic was taken? Might be obvious, but it is winter in most of canada and the US. Doesn't seem to be too cold in the pic.

Doesn't the cervelo p5 site show a pic of a white down tube? And a black frame? So maybe 2 color schemes or 2 different bikes?

At least Cervelo didn't ask ST to remove the picture... It remind me something about a TT bike from the company who just spend 1.5 millions in lawyers against Volagi to win 1$....

They are doing a launch in Gran Canaria or somewhere like that. A few of the TeamTBB athletes have tweeted that they are there for the launch or that they have ridden the bike.

You might be on to something with that seat stay observation. The non-drive side seat stay certainly looks a bit puny and entirely non-aero compared with the one on the drive side.

Except that, based on looking at the photo alone, I think this may not be the case.

Typically, a bike without a non-driveside seatstay needs to compensate (structurally) with a huge non-driveside chainstay. But the chainstay in the pic looks pretty normal.

Yeah. I don't think that either. The drive side is the one with more forces on it and has the dérailleur hanging from it. If it were the non drive side then...maybe.
The drive side horizontal would have to be beefed up considerably as well.

I could be wrong but it wouldn't look "right" either.

Bjorn...

Grant, I owe you wheel graphics, sending today...

On the P5, first Bjorn what'rya doing posting stuff like this lol

I'm not sure if I'm excite or kinda let down by that pic but I'm trying to lean towards excited since I already have one on order...;) It def does not seem to make sense to leave a pic kicking around but that pic from the Magura fb page (if that's true) sure seems to to support this posted pic.

Notes:
-holy sh*t that head tube looks narrow. See how much it has to flare out just to match the crown of the fork?
-clean looking top tube and I don't see any cables although I'm guessing the rear brake cable might enter to the side of the head tube on the hiden side of the bike.
-tt mounted storage, awesome
-other than that, I mean what more can you really do without making some quantum leap that no one has obviously figured out yet besides just keep refining and refining. Hopefully the bike has a crazy smooth ride while maintaining a torsionally stiff as hell BB and Head tube, has dialed cable routing, no creaks and top notch aerodynamics. If all that's accomplished, I'll be stoked. Tha big "e" on the downtube, good god I hope that doesn't stay...

You're reaching that assumption based on that picture?

I agree... Looks like it could be UCI compliant... Way hard to tell from pic.... Looking forward to better pics and details later in the week.... Any ideas on shipping dates?? I am tired of riding my fiancee's bike!

What, no more QR? better get used to that Cannondale!

Doubt it's bjorns bike. Björn and cervelo have history.

I think it's funny Björn is the first to post this on st. Maybe another st'er that is friends with Björn that is still with cervelo but doesn't want to get any flack?

I think the bike looks really good. As others have pointed out, only so much you can do with UCI rules.

Look forward to the roll out. Not selling my Speed Concept any time soon but if I were shopping...

What do you think ST'ers?

Is this a hoax or a Cervelo staffer go caught out in the open wheeling the P5 to the unveiling?

As far as I know, velocolour in Toronto is also a Cervelo authorized painter.

(look at the bottom left)
http://www.velocolour.com/standard_pricing09.html

I had my P4 painted at Exor Peinture in Quebec. Cost $450 for the basic paint and logo job. I was also told (by people connected to Cervelo and Exor) that they also paint all of the R5ca frames. I would call Cervelo to check if they are on the warranty approved list!
