What worries me most is that it's two bikes and I have asked around on a danish triathlon facebookpage, there was a Cannondale dealer who also knew the problem with the Trek forks.

If you search the forum you'll find that this was an occasional occurrence on early 1st-generation SC forks. A running change was made to the production process which dramatically reduced the rate of occurrence. The pictures you posted appear to represent paint cracks on both versions of the fork.
I've contacted customer service in Denmark with the same information.

Thanks for the answer.
Trek Denmark have seen the craks. Thier conclution is that the fork craked because I have crashed or something, which I did not, It could not happen by ordenary use.
The fork with the minor crack is from 2011 and mine is from 2013.
Is there any chance that Trek US will replace the fork, when it is a known problem with the older forks?

It possible the person who saw it was not aware of how these were treated in the past. That is why I contacted them. Let's see where that goes.

It was a local bike dealer who had the bike and took the photos on behalf of Trek Denmark so I hope your contact will change their opinion.

Hi!
Can I use the fit guide for Speed Concept 2014 for sizing a Speed Concept 2016? Has there been any changes?

Carl - are the headset bearings the same for the Gen 1 and the current version of SC9? I need to replace both for my Gen1 and found these - http://www.enduroforkseals.com/id366.html but it doesn't specify what year model.
FYI - I changed these bearings 2-3 years back but this time they were completely destroyed. They completely disintegrated. If you didn't know, they aren't supposed to be in pieces like that. Took lots of WD-40 and some encouragement with a hammer and screwdriver to get the outer race out of the frame. I recommend everyone pull their stem piece and have a look at the bearings. Once the stem is off you just need to remove the pre-load nut and the entire fork slides out.

Carl,
How much more does a large frame weigh verses a medium 2015 speed concept? I don't care about the actual weight I am just wondering the difference in weight. A good guess would be fine. Thank you.

I'm getting the 7.5 SC, but upgrading to DI2 shifting. Since the aluminum seat post doesn't have an internal battery mount, does anybody think this will this work even though it's round? http://ritcheylogic.com/...tpost-battery-mounts

Dear Carl,
I'm wondering if you know anything about the trek speed concept's 2016 version's large carbon base bar making noises when you're gripping on it while climbing, especially when it's a steep climb where you have to kind of pull up on the base bars while still mashing. Nothing major but just minor creeks whenever i tend to put a little more pressure on it. I also do not feel anything moving but just whenever i'm putting more pressure on the bars I do hear minor noises. I'm also not a huge guy, 146lbs.
I torque wrenched the bottom 3 bolts attaching the basebar to the stem and they were all secured.
Should I also remove the basebar and check the torque of the bolt that attaches the stem to the fork as well?
Is this normal?
Thanks!!

Hi Carl,
Was wondering if the Bontrager integrated SC Gen 2 cockpit can be installed on a '14 7.0 frame...if so, what all needs to be acquired to do so?
As always, thanks!

Yes. Your dealer looks for the 7.5 upgrade page on their ordering system (dexter)

Sweet thanks! Ok after looking at the fit guide, my pea brain can't figure out what stem/spacer combo I need.
My measurements are as follows:
Arm Pad Stack = 610mm
Arm Pad Reach = 476 mm (from saddle tip), 470mm (from BB center)
Fit Guide matches up with Low-Far stem (with Medium frame) and the number 45 (is that spacer height?)
As always, we bow to your kindness of knowledge giving.
