Need a little more info...which clip-ons do you have? If it's the OE spec clip-ons for your SC, what model and model year is your bike?

Thanks. Is it all the bolts or just in specific places? There isn't a replacement bolt kit for that particular bar system (that I'm aware of) but I might be able to piece together what you need from other kits/individual bolts that are available through your Trek dealer. I'm just thinking it'll be hard to source Dacromet-coated, grade 10.9 bolts with the requisite amount of threadlock compound from the hardware store.

from your Trek dealer:

400515 gets you a pair of the extension clamp bolts
400516 gets you a pair of the bar clamp bolts

so, to replace those on both sides, you'd need 2 of each of the above.

Hi Carl,
Thanks for your quick answer on the seat post.
Is the 335mm post and head available with the 10mm offset ?
Thanks again,
Chris

Hi Carl,

Maybe I'm getting confused with these seat posts...

Are the seat posts the same for the 10mm offset head and the 35mm offset?

So can I just buy PN 419096 and bolt on my 10mm offset head?

Thanks again,
Chris

Hi Carl,
It's a pity my local Trek dealer can't answer these questions.
Thanks so much for your expert knowledge and being on this forum.
You are a great asset to Trek and all Speed Concept owners.
All the Best,
Chris

Hi Carl. There was a discussion on this forum recently about bar width. I would like to have a little wider hand position. I have a SC 9.9 with the factory Bontrager bar set up. Right now I have the arm rests on the inside of the support towers. Can I put them on the outside of the towers without compromising anything on the setup. From what I can see this is the only way to make the bars wider. Thanks.

I'm looking for a Speed Concept (Gen 1) stem size 45x100 part number 302468
I'm told this part is out of stock in UK and US.
Would any body have a spare one that I could buy?
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Carl

I couldn't find a relevant thread for the new Madone and though you may be able to help.

My current road bike (2012 Cervelo r5 vwd) has a stack of 630 and Reach of 405. It has the conical dust cap and a spacer totalling about 27mm from the frame. I run it with a 120mm -17 degree stem.

To be more accurate the top of the handlebar is 965mm off the ground or a handlebar stack of 695mm.

I am looking at the bottom spec Madone which unfortunately only comes in H2 geometry (not sure why people with more money don't ride more aggressive frames)

My issue is I am not sure I would be able to get the stack or reach I require.

The 62m Madone has a stack of 634mm but it is my understanding you also need to add a 25mm spacer to hold the cables. So that is 660mm stack (similar I think to the r5 with spacers). Is it possible to have the stem at a negative angle? and what length is the stock stem?

The reach on the Madone is 398mm. vs 405 on the r5, even with a 120mm stem I am likely to be short at least 7mm on my reach.

The ultegra mechanical Madone in Australia is a fairly hefty 6.5K so I can't stretch to project one or buying another integrated bar/stem.

Do you have any thoughts? I am 196cm if that helps at all.

Sorry this might not even be a bike you are super familiar with.

Hi Miloman-

I'm not intimately familiar with the Madone, but I think I can help a little here.

Have you asked your Trek dealer which one would be the best match? If they use our Precision Fit system I think they should be able to put in a few of the measurements you gave me (or set up the fit bike to those points) and it should kick out an answer for you.

The cable-wrangling spacer is (partially) included in the frame stack measurement, so it only adds about 5mm.

The integrated bar-stems are all -7deg, and come in 40-42-44cm c-c widths for stem lengths of 90-100-110-120cm...plus a 42cm x 130mm stem version.

As best I can estimate, a 62cm Madone 6.2 with no (additional) stem spacers would end up ~12mm high at the bar top, regardless of stem length, as compared to your R5 setup.

Thanks Carl, I might look it the precision system to check, but it sounds like the H2 geometry won't suit me without purchasing a different stem/bar.

The problem may be they're searching on the wrong part#...that's the raw stem by itself. The stem&cover PN for that size is 420565 and those are in stock...in the US anyway...i can't see into offshore warehouses.

A different stem/bar won't help either...you can't use any other stem or bar on the 9-series Madone.

Yeah understand that I meant the Trek 130mm option.
