If you're partial to the PRS20 because it works well with your other bike(s) then you may have to make a custom pad to slip over the stock BB cradle to either protect your battery mount or your rear brake (after you take the rear brake cover off).
Otherwise, I have to say I'm partial to the
extreme range clamp
mounted in any of their regular stands.

Thanks for the kind words. Now for the bad news...we don't offer touch-up vials for that color, and it's a custom formulation which doesn't have a Pantone equiv. In cases like this, we point you to your favorite hobby/model shop and their paint selection...almost always a Testors hue which is close enough. A bunch cheaper too.

I am looking to Put a Disc on My Speed Concept 9.9 Do you have a recomendation? I know that only low profile tires will fit under the speed box. But what have you heard is working out there?
Thanks

I use the Hed Jet Disc C2 on my 9.9. Don't worry about the tire/speed box thing. That's a non-issue.
The only worries are adjusting the brakes to allow for wider rims and making sure the bulge of the disc doesn't hit the duotrap sensor.

Thanks, Carl. No issues clamping the SC 9 frame to that?

The only disk I've heard of having potential interference issues is the Lightweight. On the performance front, the KVF tube sections are quite a bit more robust than any of the full foils we've tested vs different disks...washing out the wheel choice sensitivities that some other brands may have.

I clamp to the seatpost for most work...that's where the extended range design comes in very handy...wouldn't recommend clamping the frame.

Yes, there is that too...he was looking to get a new stand anyway (as I read it) hence my recommendation. The SC post pads which fit in the 403494 post adapter are PN 416102.

I'm trying to get my Rotor 3D in, and, very much like you said, the spindle is not long enough - in fact, I can measure the Q factor to be ~ 4mm wider than if I mount them outside the frame, which means clearly something is in the way. Should the bearings be pressed any further inside the frame or is there any other solution to this?
The easiest solution, to take it to my friendly dealer/mechanic, is unfortunately not available until the end of the week. I do have access to a rubber mallet though :)
Thanks in advance,

(besides the post above,) can you quantify this 'likely just "inboard" ' - are we talking 'barely perceptibly' or 1-2mm ? Should the distance between bearings, when measured outside to outside, not equal 90mm 'exactly' ?
I'm trying to figure whether I got something wrong with the crankset or with the bearings...
Thanks!

If it is a 3d then you have a 30mm spindle and must be trying to use a pair of thin 4mm wide bearings on each side. I tried to make that work for a while but eventually accepted defeat short of modifying the frame.

Nope, 3D has the regular 24mm spindle, while
3D+
is the one with the 30mm spindle. I have the stock Enduro bearings from Trek, no modification done there :)

I didn't have problems fitting the spindle through the bearings but the length was barely long enough for the non-drive side crank arm to fit with the rubber bearing covers and the metal washers. I eventually just removed the rubber bearing covers.

My bad - was thinking 3D was the bigger spindle for some reason. I didn't have any issues with my Rotor cranks fitting. The tolerance going through the bearings is extremely tight to the point that it needs to be perfectly aligned to slide through otherwise you'll swear the spiondle is a hair too big. As for total width, I think I measured mine at ~91mm with bearings pressed in.

Thanks to a rainy Sunday I got to spend some time in the garage tinkering. On my previous bike I had a standard alu bottle cage between the aerobars with zip-ties. It works well and was very simple and inexpensive. I set it up the same on my SC but got to thinking about a cleaner alternative that would also allow me to move my Garmin 500 up by my hands instead of way back on the stem cap where it's difficult to see. I'm running the 100/10 stem that has a completely flat cap. This might also work on the 50/10 assuming it is long enough to fit the mounting holes for a cage. The parts are simple and aside from the cage this is dirt cheap. It pained me to drop $30 on a waterbottle cage but the white carbon cage looks the part better on the SC so I made the investment.
Here are the supplies and prep. I used a pair of t-nuts (without prongs), 10-24 allen head screws, and some nylon spacers. First figure out where on the cap you want the cage to be, then mark and drill a set of holes just big enough for the t-nuts to fit through. I wanted my cage as far forward as possible so I trimmed the flange on the front t-nut to go around the stem cap screw hole. Then take your adhesive and glue the t-nuts in place. Once the adhesive sets up you can use the nylon spacers to mount the cage and you're done. Because of the tilt in my aerobars I needed the front of the cage to sit a little higher so I beveled the top surface of both spacers for the angle that the cage would sit at.
And here is the finished product. Stem cap goes on/off just as before.

Now on to the Garmin 500. I picked up a 2ft section of 1" pvc pipe from HD for $3. Add a couple zip ties and some Dremel time and you get this. It's probably temporary until the next rainy day - I want to mount to sit a bit lower between the bars and I have an idea for making it a bit cleaner.
And everything together. The angle makes it look like there is more space between the bottle and Garmin than there really is. Right now the bottle barely gets into the cage past the Garmin. Getting the Garmin mount lower between the bars will help tighten it up more. Even as it is I don't have any issues with my hand placement - I hold out at the very ends of the aerobars with my thumb and index finger on the shifters.

I tried ordering the following parts from my LBS in Feb, but they have yet to get them in. Do you have any insight into stock levels? SC RXL P-clamp (420492) and padhardware (420487 pads & 420488 pad holders)
Thanks!

Keeping in mind I can only "see" domestic stocks...and even then I don't have realtime capability (to my knowledge)...all three PNs appear to be available. Your dealer's rep probably has better info.

I am new to triathlons, but not riding or running. That being said I am looking at buying a Speed Concept 7.5. I was fit by my local bike shop and they said I was a S or a M in Trek. I test rode a M (on sale) and it seemed pretty comfortable. They didn't have a S available. The question is: should I go ahead and buy the M or wait until I ride a S? I am 5'8. My previous road bike was a fuji M (50 cm).

The most important thing you can get out of a fit session is where your armpads are, vertically and horizontally from the BB. The rest of the bike depends on those coordinates. Whether your shop ended the fit session by giving you those numbers, or by handing you a sheet with a bunch of other numbers let's see what you've got and see what they're trying to tell us. I can make a guess from your height and your road bike fit, but it would have no better than a 50-50 chance of ending up in a happy place...IOW, exactly the situation you're in right now.

I use the Hed Jet Disc C2 on my 9.9. Don't worry about the tire/speed box thing. That's a non-issue.
The only worries are adjusting the brakes to allow for wider rims and making sure the bulge of the disc doesn't hit the duotrap sensor.
On the DuoTrap note - I ride with a garmin and really only use the DuoTrap for cadence (since the Garmin measures speed/distance/etc). If I take the DuoTrap sensor out for racing (when I use a disc or wheel cover) are there any anticipated disc/cover issues? Or is it only the DuoTrap sensor arm that is an issue.
I suppose, that I could put back on the Garmin cadence sensor in this case.
