Looks like you have not seen too many aero helmet prices lately.
$500 for a aero helmet with 2 Oakley lenses is right around other top aero helmet prices. The question is how aero it is.

Price seems comparable to similar helmets--admittedly absurd but not out of line when compared to competitors

hope some of the powers that be get to test the ARO 7 lid to see how it stacks up. Its very much a rounded helmet with no tail whatsoever. The optics will no doubt be brilliant, but it would want to test well for 500 clams.

Do a price check on Oakley Medusa's or Over the Top's...

The funniest or saddest part of this is that I witnessed a couple years ago at Interbike Outdoor Expo how someone from Kask asked representatives from Oakley what it would take for them to develop a lens for their helmets. The high up Oakley marketing guy said it would be very expensive and I believe "$1,000,000 was quoted" in terms of what they have in the development of each lens.
