New month! All of you who won October, congrats! For the rest of us, RESET!

Starting Weight: 166.5 (10/1)
Current Weight: 168.1
Race Weight: 141
Delta: 27.1
Race Date: 5/1/2018 (181 days)
Progress: 1.6 BAD

Well, starting a diet in a vacation and travel month was a bad idea for me. So, November is going to be where it is at for me. Goal is to drop to 162 by 12/1.

170.6 this morning (10/9).

Not doing anything too drastic. Just trying to make better decisions to avoid shit/junk as much as possible. I'm still eating when hungry.

167.9 this morning (10/19). It's happening.

166.8 this morning (11/1)

Been tracking myself for a few weeks now, but I need some accountability. I've been 10-20 lbs over where I want to be for several years now...

Matt,

How tall are you? Just curious because you have the exact same weight and goals and race that I do.

I'm 5'10.5 and 175. I'd love to be at 155 by April. So I'm going to play along and see what I can do for this month.

I'm 5'11".

The lowest I have ever been was 163 about three years ago. I got down that low getting ready for a marathon, but I got injured and did not run it. Normally I can get down to 165 by being diligent about what I am eating. I have always thought that another 10 pounds down to 155 is where I would be the fastest, but I have never had the motivation to get that low. I am hoping that starting earlier on dropping weight is going to help, too. I normally don't get serious about dropping the winter weight until January 1.

SLOgoing, are you trying to cut back the calories and it isn't working, or are you just eating/drinking more, so gaining weight?

I started at 82.5kg on the 18th of September.
I am 78.5kg now, so -4kg.

I am pretty much back to my 'normal' weight after gaining post-Roth. I will keep on going and see what I can get down to, I am not exactly skin and bones now!
Racing weight seems to suggest that 73kg would be a good goal for me. If I weigh 73kg for the Paris marathon, I'm pretty confident that my PB wil be destroyed!

Brings up a good question (and one that's been discussed before but rather jokingly): what is proper race weight?

I'm 6'1", 185 with a 32" waist. i know I should weigh less in order to run more efficiently but what's the correct number? I can't imagine dropping 20 lbs.

Quite a few folks have been using this calculator. It seems to give some peeps insane results. It was 4 pounds different than what I thought I was aiming for. I think it is more of a super-race-weight calculator.

That said, my husband is 6'2", 169 and 32" waist. My son is 6'4", 185, 34" waist. Both are what I would consider race weight.

Do you want us to use the same start weight from October or reset with new weight at start of November? I'll copy from October for now.

Starting weight (Oct 10) - 89.2kg/196.6 pounds
Current weight (Nov 8) - 87.2g/192.2 pounds
Race Weight - 72kg/158.7 pounds
Race Date - 23/05/18
Progress - 2kg/ 4.4 pounds

A not great 0.2kg in two weeks but to be expected. Fell off the wagon somewhat. At least I can't be accused of crash dieting!

168 ->166.........minus 2lb.

I'm out of my element here as a cyclist who may want to dabble in this tri thing at some point. But I'm still trying to lose.

Last year this time I was 181lb and about 200w. October I was down to 168. November, today, 166lb. Tested in October to 250w without too much fanfare or issue.

I'm shooting for getting the w/kg up as much as I can for next mid-May. I'm signed up for Assault on Mt. Mitchell. w/kg matters, a lot.

I can probably tickle up the power by 20w fine between then and now. So, 160 lb would be a good target and still be big enough for some flatter local road races or a few TT's.

A 20min of 3.75w/kg would be awesome for that event. That's 3.5 for you 1-hour turds!

Been loading with beet juice/beet root powder for my race sunday.

Lost 3 pounds in 3 days.

I'll leave the rest to your deductive reasoning.

You must be new here

the trick is to keep losing weight until your friends and family ask you if you've been sick. then you know you're within 10 pounds. if they start whispering to each other, wondering if you've got cancer or aids, you're within 5. when they actually do an intervention, you're at race weight.

In fact, I think it's now a ST Rule that whenever "race weight" is mentioned, this post must be applied

Starting weight (Oct 10) - 89.2kg/196.6 pounds
Current weight (Nov 15) - 85.4g/188.3 pounds
Race Weight - 72kg/158.7 pounds
Race Date - 23/05/18
Progress - 3.8kg/ 8.3 pounds

Slowly making progress and I'm now starting to get more consistent training in so it's easier to keep a sensible calorie deficit and still eat a decent amount.

After finishing my season on the 12th, is it time to get back on the train? I've completely let myself go since then. I've had pizza and ice cream for dinner more times than I want to admit. Last night, I ate an entire pizza.

Is it time? My reflection thinks that it's time. The numbers that are coming up on my scale think it's time.

It is time. I, too, seem to have fallen off the bandwagon, although I thought I was being a good girl.

My latest...

Starting Weight: 166.5 (10/1)
Current Weight: 167.8
Race Weight: 141
Delta: 27.1
Race Date: 5/1/2018 (160 days)
Progress: 1.3 BAD

I've actually cut back on my intake quite a bit and have counted calories for two weeks now, but I've also really backed off on training with no upcoming races. So, I now know my equilibrium. After my turkey I'm back on my game.
