I love tech. I love bikes. I own more than one Cervelo. I should be excited.

Yet, I know this bike, whatever it is, will be so exorbitantly priced that the only thing I can realistically get excited about is that it will produce technology that will eventually trickle down to a model that costs less than a sensible car.

What do we know about this "new generation" of tri bikes? Is this video the only information they've released?

didn't cervelo just release there new bikes 2 years ago?

perhaps they'll finally integrate that battery into the frame for the di2 p3 bikes.

I liked the Specialized "5 minutes" marketing videos more. Come back with Gordon Ramsey, Jenson Button, and a pianist and I'll be impressed.

Obviously a brand new bike at the pointy end of the spear from an advanced TT bike company will be expensive. But, like before, there will absolutely be a trickle down of technology. Just like the current P3 is so close to the current P5 and yet it is far, far cheaper.

Its an announcement about an announcement.

My guess is that since it is "140.6 themed" it will be a non-UCI legal bike aimed at Triathletes.

There is plenty to talk about! What could they have improved upon?

If you read the Spring 2015 dealer catalog, they talk about how they used the max limits for UCI design in the P5. That doesn't leave much room to improve upon. Maybe they finally make a tri specific bike that is UCI Illegal instead of a UCI-Legal bike with parts added to it?

Why does it have to be one or the other? I would expect a company that dominates the Kona bike count to have at least some resources for marketing. To that end, I would expect more from an engineer making ads. This coming from an engineer who rides a Cervelo.

I predict a retro tri-bike revival from Cervelo. That's why I still use my 98 QR Kilo PR complete with 650c (exploding Spinergy) wheels and everything. Can't say that it's any slower than my P2C (at least with me on board...)

I'm a big fan of Cervelo, but this is just lame.

It's a nod to the Ironman distance. It takes an Ironman mentality to design a new bike? I got the reference when I saw it
