In the form of h2ofun.

Who needs something like this? It seems like snowflake millennials always need some kind of distraction while running. I always set course records on the run without the help of music. What they really need is just to run more, like me.

Sorry. I'm so traumatized by his posting I just get triggered like a millennial.

The non-music version of this might be perfect for me. I do wish the battery life was on par with the 935 (i.e. 24 hours) for my ultras. If it's confirmed that charging can be done while in GPS mode there's a real good chance my 935 will be up for sale soon.

I know. I was expecting him to jump in on the Computrainer and iPad thread.

I think he may be having a mandatory timeout for letting a banned user use his account.

That's my suspicion. I hope that it is a timeout / detention rather than a permanent ban. I do like H2Ofun, as annoying as he can be at times.

Looks like it was confirmed by a Garmin rep in Ray’s comment thread

When you say charge in GPS mode, what do you mean? You charge it with a pocket battery while moving? Can a 920 do that?

Yes, allows you to top off the battery every once in awhile during long events such as 100k and 100m ultras. Depending on the watch and connection type you may even be able to leave it on your wrist although I think it's more common to remove it, hook it up to portable charger and stow in pack until charging is complete.

No idea. I've never had a 920.

Ill look into this. I tried UltraTrac and it sucked for me. I ran 1.5 miles in a straight, flat, open sky line and it was off by a tenth that quick. N of 1, but not impressed. Maybe that tenth would have held constant, and over a long run wouldn't matter, but never bothered to try it again.

Music while running is a bad idea IMO. Can't hear cars or dogs coming at times. Even worse for biking. Stopped with music during runs after a last second sighting of a dog bearing down on me where I was able to get my foot up just in the last second before it nipped. Even with low volume, some like to charge silently until they are on top of you practically.

Agreed. I don’t run with music either.

BTW, Garmin is at it again with delaying release of a new device. Initially 'expected to ship early february', now it's 'late february'...over / under for before end of March? ;-)
