New Ceepo Viper finally built up!
Got the new frameset in a few weeks ago and finally built up! Rode it for the first time today and it definitely is a well designed and comfortable bike. I plan on giving a better review of it once I spend some more time on it. There aren't too many out there yet so thought I would share a photo of it.

Nice ride.

A question: what is the function of that bunp on the front of the seat tube?

Not really sure. The seat tube goes from pretty wide to narrow at that point so I'm guessing for stiffness...

The older Ceepo's had quite a few of those oddly placed 'bumps' - can't think it's for aerodynamics.

Nice Andy -

I build up my Katana a couple of weeks ago and I'm loving it so far. Too bad its been relegated to the trainer. Built up with stuff I found in the classifieds here and Black Friday deals:

6770 Di2
Powertap P1 pedalsSRAM exogram gxp with wheels mfg adapters
TriRig Omega X brakes
Zipp Vuka Carbon Base Bar and Extensions, Alumina risers/pads
Dash Saddle (waiting delivery)
Built up my wheel set using Bontrager xxx race lite hubs (dt swiss 240) 38mm carbon wheels (far sports) and sapim cx aero blade spokes
Dura ace chain

Still have some wiring clean up to do and I'm waiting for the saddle to arrive and then I'll be getting a much needed fit.

It is the shoulder rest for the run-up sections in the course.

My understanding from reading the tech papers a while back was that it was designed for long distances and given most people will carry bottles/cages for these distances that the noisy air will be pushed back to that bump and be deflected backwards, so it helps aero wise.

No idea if that is 100% correct, but I do recall it tested a bit slower that an speed concept at 0 yaw and much less deal at high yaw.

Sorry on mobile now so can't make it active.

Looks like they talk about the down tube shape with the cages. Don't see the seat tube referenced other than the image so maybe that's what I was thinking about.

7% less aero than SC at 0 yaw
11% more aero at 30 yaw.

But those are the katana numbers. Viper tests better than katana. It's all a bit over my head and admittedly not an independent test, but nonetheless I'm very happy with my new ride.

Nice build! I was wondering if you ended up going Di2- looks clean. How do you like the PT pedals? I went with the vectors since I had them on my road bike too, but really like the PT products. Those wheels look great; did you have those custom built?

I went with a similar cockpit as yours but with Bontrager extensions, kept my old sram red drivetrain, a new BB386 SLK crank (which is better than I thought it would be), and splurged on new Enve 6.7 wheels (I'm more obsessed with the new wheels than the bike....). The bike handles better and wasnt too much more difficult to build up than the Plasma 3 I had which was a surprise to me as that was a great bike.

After looking at that "tech paper" let's all say it together now, "obfuscate."

And the next time anyone rides in conditions where 30 degrees yaw makes up a substantial portion of their ride, they should report back about what it's like to ride in a hurricane.

Drag to watts conversion is incorrect. They are doubling the real values.
