Need major Help with new Tri Shoes!!

Time for new Tri shoes!
I am hoping y'all can help me out.

Not into any specific brand, but I currently have Shimano TR31, (they are about 3.5 years old). They fit like a glove. Size 44 and I'm wondering if any other shoes would be similar or just any overall preference by you.

Do you use road shoe in tri? If so which ones?
I tried the TR9 from shimano and it just didn't fit the bill.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Yes, I use the Giro Empire SLX. It is a road shoe. Lace ups but replaced the lace with elastic. Works great for me.

Awesome! I will look and see where I can try them on.

I'm guessing there is an aero and or comfort advantage for those ?

I mean not to beat a dead horse, but I outlined why I went with the Giro, how I modified them etc, and wind tunnel, here in this blog post.
