To start, I've read other posts on treadmills and have done quite a bit of online research, finding pros and cons on many models. I'm not a huge treadmill fan, but running needs to get done, and with an 18 month old, it's sometimes much easier to run at home and be there if needed. Winters can be hit or miss in New England - I'd much prefer running outside, but with a treadmill I'd have the option of not having to drive to the gym for a run.
I've whittled my choices down to a few options: Sole F80, NordicTrack 1750, and Precor 9.23. All of these are in the $1500-$1700 range, which is my budget.
From what I've read the only real downside of the Sole F80 is its inability to switch speeds quickly. I do intervals on the treadmill at the gym, but that's a Woodway, and way out of my price range. For anyone who has the Sole, is this a real issue? I also like that there are speed adjustments on the handrails.
The NordicTrack has iFit and the option of Google Maps, but this requires a subscription and sounds a bit gimicky. It looks a lot more modern than the Sole, but I just want to get a workout done. The thing I see that peeks my interest here is the -3% decline option. I've also heard that support isn't the greatest with the conglomerate that owns NordicTrack (Icon).
The Precor sounds like a runners treadmill. Nothing fancy, no handrails, just get on, do your workout, and you're done. Very good reliability as well from what I've heard.
Are there any other treadmills in this price range that I should consider?
Thanks!
