This is often the problem that results when you put fake food, such as these recovery shakes, in the place of real food.
You become seriously malnourished on the micronutrient level, which is bad an an athlete you often need MORE (increased cell turnover etc.)
Why are you having a recovery shake in the for breakfast?
There is really no need for recovery drinks. It's bad enough that the sports nutrition industry has sold us the idea of training and racing nutrition. Which are pretty much nothing more than a collection of off the shelf sugars with horrible sweeteners in!
Those powerbars? You can make those yourself in 5 minutes with a food processor. I can guarantee they will be preservative free!
But, I can see the argument for convenience.
In recovery however you don't need that convenience. It's not hard to have some milk, maybe a few eggs, or even a meal. The post exercise anabolic window is really not as critical for endurance athletes as the sports nutrition industry would have you believe.
To the OP, do your body a favour. Stop having the junk shakes and go back to your Yoghurt and nuts.
