Looking for a pump for disc
I hate using the crack pipe.
I need a pump that will with my wheel cover and disc type wheels. Preferably something small that I can carry to races.

Anyone have a recommendation?

They Lezyene travel pump is probably your best option. I use it as my travel pump as it fits in my carry on. Mine came with right-angle adapter.

I tried a couple solutions but I kept having to go back to my crack pipe.

I bought one of those Lezayne right angle adapters. Didn't fit my Lezayne floor pump. One of several ideas that didn't work.

You just need a better adapter. Should be ~$15 shipped. No-hand operation as the adapter threads onto the valve

This, exactly, yes its $100, just do it. Will work with any pump. I have a $29 pump from MEC, with the Hiro attached to it. I just leave it on there and use it for all wheels, including my disc wheel.

It's only $10 more for the 'normal' stock, as opposed to the trisports clearance:

There is quite little room at the valve in my disc, but that's the adapter which does not need a lot of room and which works.

What's wrong with the kcnc adapter which sells for $40? Jive been using one for 4 years and it's always on my pump. Can't imagine paying $100 for Silca.

Well, there's the fact that mine died in four months, not four years.

I second this. It is perfect for transition areas, especially when the race won't transport a standard pump (if t1 is in a different location than finish).

I also use a digital pressure gauge since the built in gauge seems only good to +/- 5psi.

So this adapter finally arrived. Looks like it is supposed to screw on to something but my current pump head has no screw threads. Do I just cut it off and insert it into the tube?

I put my existing pump head onto the threads of the hiro as though the hiro were a valve, locked it on.
If you had a new Silva pump, it would have a hose end that the hiro could screw into

I wouldn’t cut anything.

My pump head pushes onto a presta valve and I pull a lever to secure it. The Silca threaded narrow end should fit into the same bit of the pump head, and be secured in the same way. Then put the other end of the silca onto the presta valve and use the lever on the silca to secure it.

The threaded end of the Silca adapters is just a Shrader valve. You need a pump head that works with Shrader and Presta valves then just push it into the pump head and lock the lever. Most of the pumpheads made today offer this automatically in one pump head. Some may require reconfiguring the pump head to fit the larger valve.

As others have said, it works as a shrader valve. So however your pump handles those is what you need to do. Sometimes tou need to flip the chuck, or just slide it in

For future readers -

I had great luck filing down a few millimeters of my valve stem. took out the valve core, then used a metal file to shorten the stem just a bit. Crack pipe then had enough room and was way easier to use. Prior to this discovery, it was a two person operation to try to inflate the disc tire which always made me nervous race morning.

Cheers
