Just curious why you would want lactate testing specifically?

I've considered getting a lactate meter, but more to see how blood lactate levels change during a variety of intervals than to set some thresholds. Its too easy to set thresholds and do very reliable testing with my powertap wheel, and that costed just a little bit more than a lactate scout+shitload of strips.

I don't work with remote athletes, so yes, Third on Stover.

I have access to a real high grade device and can test anytime I want as well as some history with training with those results.

Steve Johnson who is darkhorse tri on ST is outstanding. Meets all your requirements +. Super responsive, detail oriented. http://www.darkhorsetriathlon.com/ Nothing against QT2 as I have worked with them as well, but Steve is REALLY good.

Matt Hanson is based reasonably near you.

(He is a professor of Ex Phys) as well as standout pro and great coach, he posts on Slowtwitch.

(caveat I coach him so may be biased ;-) )

Another vote for Steve. I know several athletes Steve currently coaches (including me) or has coached and all have been pleased. .

As another coach on here I would agree with "desert dude". I had a few folks in Tucson last year and he was pretty helpful with advice for swimming and riding routes.

Also "Jonnyo", when he worked for podium he got a wetsuit to our running store in 10 hours which I thought was impossible. It was important at that time as it was 2 weeks out from IMC and likely our last OW session before race week.

I have not been coached by either but both have extremely prompt and helpful communication and try to help you solve problems right away.

I also have a lot of respect for "Kevin in MD" but not sure if he coaches outside of the local environment.

one more requirement is that they post success of their athletes rather than themselves

Recommend Blake Becker. He does both remote coaching but also has team workouts if you are near Madison. PM me if you want more info, I have used him for a coach for the past two seasons

I would suggest start contacting some of the folks mentioned above, and first see if they are available. Second some coaches will be interviewing you as opposed to you interviewing them.

Best of luck,

Maurice

Try Shannon Grady,

She meets everyone of your specifications. She works remote including teams in Wisconsin (running). She was once one of the US's top milers and is now a triathlete as well as training adviser to athletes of all levels. She has an advanced degree in Exercise Physiology.

Here is her website:

http://systembasedtraining.com

The website lists her accomplishments in terms of athletes and her methods. One of the most sophisticated approaches we have seen in the US.

Especially like this article she wrote

http://systembasedtraining.com/...your-blood-wont-lie/

She is testing tomorrow at the San Diego track club.

I second Shannon Grady! I've talked to her a good bit and she REALLY knows her stuff and uses a very scientific approach. If I were more disciplined, she'd be exactly the type of coach I'd want to work with.

I have no idea! Sorry I can't be much help. She's awesome, but probably pretty darn busy. I'm excited for your long course adventures!

My unsolicited advice: don't get too caught up in data, unless you're aiming for a pro card.
