I live on Long Island. willing to drive up to 3 hours

Flat would be great.
Not very hot is essential.

I'd go with Toughman, although not flat, but usually not hot. Scenic but challenge course, excellent management and some of the best awards for age group winners.

It's longer than a 3 hour drive from Long Island, but Beach to Battleship is October and flat.

I did the Spring version a few years ago. If its the same course it is uber flat on the bike and other than some trail sections on the run very easy on the legs. Def a pr course
