Kona Travel Advise

Hi
Made it to Kona in October and looking at going to another island after the Race for a few days. Have been to Oahu a few years ago and did the main ones, Pearl Harbour,Missouri etc.
Looking at Maui this time or any other suggestions.. Have 3 active boys 11,13,15 any suggestions as to what to do? Would be there for 3 or 4 days max.

Have you been to the Big Island before?

There's a shit ton of things to do on the Big Island for active folks. IMO, the best of the islands when it comes to the overall experience of beaches, snorkeling, hiking, nature, etc.

Favorite Gear: Dimond | Cadex | Desoto Sport | Hoka One One

Several years ago my family also paired a trip to Kona with a Maui trip. My wife and two kids really enjoyed the downhill bike tour on Maui (http://www.mauidownhill.com).

we're over Maui. Too windy, too touristy. Kauai is our favorite island - great snorkeling, hiking, chill beaches, swim with the turtles, etc.

that said we spent two months on the big island in 2015 with our then-four year old, and we were never bored. Lava tubes, swim with the turtles every day, tidepools down south, petrified tree forest, snorkeling south of Kona, paddleboarding, and the volcano. It's not our favorite island as a whole, but we had some good times.
