Kissimmee/ Celebration FL Bike and Run Options
Quote | Reply
Can somebody share some suggestions on bike and run routes. I am heading there next week for 7 days and flying with my road bike. Wife is preparing for Boston so I will be riding lots and she will be running lots. Monday-Thursday swimming is set at YCF YMCA on International Dr, after that the swim meet starts so not sure on other swim options.
Thanks

Make your way to the southern end of Avalon Rd. Ride north from there quite a while until it dead ends at Lake Apopka. At that point hop on the Orange trail which goes west all the way to Clermont/Groveland, or east well into Orlando. Avalon is low traffic, and the trail is zero traffic. Safest ride I know of!

I used a nice health club in celebration several years ago, but the visitir fee was $10 but pool was decent and had full array of equipment. It was on the nw side i think.

Forgot to mention the club is also on a nice thoroughfare about 1.5 miles long or so that was great for running and cycling though a bit repetitive.

Check out this website for possible rides....http://www.windermereroadies.com. Great group. Celebration area is tough to find good routes, as too much traffic. Also, check out this great swim opportunity too! http://www.luckyslakeswim.com . Lucky's is a definite do! If you have a car, go out to Clermont to ride.

I was there last year on business and did 12x400m run intervals up and down Celebration Ave right through the middle of town. Worked great for intervals. Not much traffic, flat, etc. Good luck!
