Keto Diet & Carb Intake variations for endurance athletes

I'm having trouble finding any research or info online, so turning to the community for help.

Should an endurance athlete following a LCHF or Keto diet account for workouts when considering carb intake? Or will this hurt the adaptive nature of the diet.

In other words, if normal keto diet calls for <50g carbs, should an endurance athlete consider consuming <100g carbs to compensate for workouts, or is that irrelevant and will lessen the effects of LCHF? In addition, if you do find that you are better off floating up to 100-150g carbs/day, should one just commit to a normal 50/30/20 or 40/30/30 split, because there's no longer any benefit to staying low carb?

There is no such thing as adaptation to ketones. You produce them every night and during long training whether you want to or not.

The only thing worth doing is removing dependence on carbs.

But at the end of the day carbs are a great energy source, when taken in appropriate amounts and the right times.

So fuel with carbs around training, eat low carb outside of training if you want to, you will produce a few more ketones, your health will improve if the quality of the diet is high and you will feel better for it.

Trying to adapt to ketones is like swapping one fuel for another, it doesn't make you any more metabolically flexible, it just swaps glucose for ketones.
