Is this latex tube OK
This latex tube was in installed for most of last season without any problems. I just removed it and it has small bumps all along the side that was against the rim. The rim has velo plugs covered in electrical tape and could not be any smoother. Is the tube still OK and more importantly why does it look like this?

When in doubt, throw it out has never failed me. But seriously, I have had a bunch of tubes with similar problems over the years and I am curious what JackMott would say so bumpski.

I have seen little ripples before but those are some fat knobbies!
Something odd going on in your tire?

maybe it was sneaking past the bead of the tire?

Ditch it. Almost looks to me as if your tire had some small flaws in the bead and the latex was working its way into those spots. If those little bumps were actually past the bead you're really lucky the tube didn't fail.

I find sometimes latex tube develop little ripples and seem to lengthen in use and as a result I generally replace annually. But I've never seen anything as dramatic as that.
