oh look, now we have a split-screen... pro male on the right and pro female on the left... can anyone see the difference?
I'm not saying Heather Wurtelle should look exactly like Rasmus Henning, but still.

I'm using Safari with Silverlight. I couldn't get it to work until I restarted the computer. Instructions said restart the browser, but a total reboot did it. Works on Firefox too, but with Safari I'm not getting any hang ups for some reason.
I'm on 10.4 Tiger/Intel

I'm up at the bike turn around. Jordan was about 2 mins back of the lead with lieto only 20 seconds behind him. Chrissie is not far off leanda cave, maybe 20 seconds. I'm a little surprised that she's not wearing an Aero helmet in this weather.

position looks good, but his cadence seems to be slower than the rest. I think he is grinding into a headwind, not good in the long run..

No comment on his position but when he drank from that god awful Ironman Perform bottle he seemed to look at it and think "what the hell is this crap?"
My neck would be killing though in that "taught" position, but I am not in the pro field today so who I am to judge

Agreed, his position looks real solid but he seems to really be grinding, not sure what the low cadence is all about. Also, he keeps checking his watch, looks like a Timex Ironman...he can't be racing based on HR, can he?
They've finally shown Chrissie...no aero helmet (not much of a surprise there from her) and no disc--what's the deal with that? I can kinda understand the road helmet but why does she (and it looks like many others) not run a disc on this course? Do they hate speed?

Hey, who is riding while you watch? I'm suffering on the indoor trainer right now getting ready for Asia-Pacific 70.3...so here's my shout-out SUPPORT for all you folks training and watching!
For some reason, riding indoors is a lot more enjoyable when you're watching others ride outdoors.

Does anyone know what exact model Kevin's LG helmet is? That looks like it might mate up perfectly with my neck/head orientation. Thanks

The disc thing could be that it was expected to be stormy today, with some serious swirling crosswinds. And they may still get them, and it will help to stay straight on the course. Discs are fast but not if you are constantly going from one side of the road to the other.

I agree that the pro riders seem to do strange things. Many positions seem less than optimal for aerodynamics. No aero helmet and no disc as well.
Then again it's somewhat silly for many of us to be implying that we all do better as I've seen some pretty goofy choices by AGers as well.

maybe bio_mcgeek might have an opinion on this. i've never found the winds to be a problem with a disc on the rear, just on the front. i think chicks are more likely to buy into the urban mythology of disc problems on windy days. it'll be interesting to see how discs v no discs work out today. not that it's going to make a difference in the women's race in any case.
