IM South Africa backup plan for swim cancellation (very clear 14/180/28)

Not that this will happen but if it does, they have a plan clearly articulated. Also I think the 14k/180k/28k format would hurt like the Old Zofingen duathlon. I can see a lot of people totally overcooking run number 1.

SCENARIO 1 : Shortened Swim - All Athletes Distance for all: SWIM – 4 buoys | BIKE 180.2 km | RUN 42.2 km Pro’s (Wave 1) start at 06h30 : SWIM – 4 buoys and continue with the rest of the race Age Groupers : Wave 2 starts at 06h40 | Wave 3 starts at 07h00 : SWIM – 4 buoys and continue with rest of race

SCENARIO 2 : Shortened Swim for Pros (SWIM - 4 buoys - Start at 06h30)
Age Group Duathlon - Start at 07h30 Approximate distances
Pro’s : SWIM – 4 buoys | BIKE 180.2 km | RUN 42.2 km
Approximate distances Age Groupers : RUN 14 km | BIKE 180.2 km | RUN 28 km

SCENARIO 3 : Swim Cancelled for all : Duathlon for all
Approximate distances all : RUN 14 km | BIKE 180.2 km | RUN 28 km
Pro’s start at 07h00
Age Groupers start at 07h30
Process for a Duathlon Race :
06h00 : Announcement will be made that the race will be changed to a Duathlon.
Go to your BIKE bag and get your race number.
Go to your RUN bag and get your run kit.
Place unused swim gear in your run bag.
Put on your run kit and race number in the changing tent.
Rehang your bags at their same spot.
