Hills and speed intervals

I finished my first full IM in late June and took the month of July to catch up on chores and do some "fun" runs and a little mtn biking. Now I am getting back to training as I have a HIM in November. During my IM training I did not incorporate hills or speed intervals in my training but would like to start for my upcoming HIM. My question to the group is do you do both each week or alternate them every week?

Slowly build your weekly run mileage back up again first. Then I think you could do both each week. But I would limit the length of your long run. I like the 6 day a week running plan and do 2 medium runs, the end of one do some hill sprint repeats. The other medium run do some long tempo efforts or whatever intervals you fancy.
