Help with TT bike fit (Cervelo P2C 48cm 650C)
I have been away from racing for 9 years. At that time I was training for long course races.
This summer I have signed up for a few sprint and olympic distance events.

This position has never been optimal in the hip/groin area when pulling up on the pedals - it feels tight.
Some advice would be greatly appreciated. Be gentle please ;-)

48cm Cervelo P2C 2008 (650C wheels)

Height 163cm (5’4”)
Inseam 79.5cm (31.3”)
48kg
3.2w/kg (don’t laugh)
Age 53

Seat Height 68.5cm
Saddle Selle Italia Gel Flow (2008)
(tried the Adamo road saddle in 2010 but it was too wide )
Saddle all the way forward

Cranks: FSA SLK Light 170cm

3T Brezza II Team aerobars (42cm)
10mm spacer
70mm stem

Pad X 400 (my measurements)
Pad Y 580

My guess is you were not sitting on the Adamo correctly back when you tested it. Your fit/body position could use a saddle like that at this point. I'd probably say take out that 10mm spacer, install a ~100mm stem (-7ish), install the Adamo again but sit on it "correctly" (only seat bone pressure, rolled hips) and it'll look quite different. Most of fit is posture related. Or, the things that make people confident/comfortable in their fits and what they get out of them are posture related.

Why are you pulling up on the pedals?

James your position on the P3C looks a bit like mine, do you mind sharing your pad x/y just for my curiosity? Looks steep on STA and pretty long/low.

Sorry for OT request.

I went through this a few years ago, and basically with words alone and even diagrams that Dave luscan has posted it is a very hard concept (at least for me) to pass on to others.

Have you posted that before?

Excellent video.

Cheers,

I'll have to do some measuring, I am actually not sure at the moment.

No I just made it a few weeks ago to try and help get the points across in a visual format. Seems to resonate better than words...

Thanks!
