Email De Soto. They may be able to fix it and if they can they might be able to get it back to you quick. But don't be waiting around here for someone to give you an answer get in touch with the pros ASAP.

De Soto can fix it, as can most surf/dive shops.
A home repair would be to use aquaseal on the neoprene, and ironmend on the liner.
Better that it happened now, than when you were putting it on race morning!

Is it the crotch? If yes, I am sure you could still use it without a negative impact.
I will refrain from making any type of funny comment too.

How colds the water? Probably not even an issue. I used my wetsuit at Alcatraz that is held together with holes with no issues

In that area they a wet suit repair shop will sew it then glue it. I do agree for a shorter race duck tape will work. Most surf stores carrying wet suit glue. Glue it then duck tape it if the manaufacturer won't help you. Then after the race send it to a good wet suit repair shop.

I had a similar tear the morning of IMMT 2014, a bit smaller but same location (ten year old suit). Swam with it, as noted no impact on cold or my usual slow swim. But you have time to repair it, slather on neoprene glue and it should hold. Or there is a wetsuit tri store that will be onsite at Mont Tremblant, they may be able to do a more pro job.

Hi Emilio here. judging by the photo, your wetsuit seems like it's not in very good condition, or that it is very old. Did you get a reply from my staff? If not send me an email to emilio@desotosport.com.

I like it. Soon, all the wetsuit makers will start making "crotchless" wetsuits now to make it easier to pee or adjust your junk. You started a new trend. Embrace it. #EmilioIsWatching

I'd use Seal Cement rather than Aquaseal. McNett now sells an Iron Mend patch which looks appropriate, but haven't tried it.

Dental floss on a needle to sew it, aquaseal over that, then a patch. I got a huge hole in my old suit right before B2B four years ago while putting it on race morning - hole was right below the end of the zipper. Didn't seem to have much negative effect on my swim, and I used it for another season after mending it.

Dive shops, if there's any in your area, also have stuff to repair wetsuit (I forget what I had gotten, as that container was flooded by Sandy). Since that stuff is not specifically marketed at triathletes, it's often cheaper and sometimes works better.

Hi all,
Sorry for the delay, I ended up repairing the wetsuit myself. I glued the suit, a little section at a time, then sewed it together and then glued it again. Here is a pic of the Fraken suit. I applied another layer of glue over this. I ended up with a SO SO swim a pr by about 30 secs. Non of which was helped or hindered by the suit. I love my T1 and am preying that it will get me though this season. I'd much rather pick up a new tri suit at the moment. Thanks all for your help!

Oh and I forgot to mention, the folks over at Desoto reached out to me IMMEDIATELY with various options. Major thanks to Emilio and his crew!
