Helmet light - rear strap?
I was riding behind a guy with what appeared to be ~4 in long (narrow - maybe 0.5 in) led flashing light. It was bright, easy to see and looked like a great option. Once I caught up to him, I forgot to ask him what it was. I have searched for it but I have not been able to find anything close. I know some manufactures are integrating lights, so maybe this is just one I have not seen yet. Any idea what it was?

I have my normal bike light, but I am looking to add some more lights so I can get early starts on the weekend rides as we shift closer to standard time and shorter days.

Thanks.

I borrowed my wife's hot melt glue gun and glued my light to the back of my Giro helmet. I got tired of switching it from my road bike to tri bike, so I figured stick it to my helmet so it will always be on me. I ride/tri to live a healthy lifestyle, so a red blinky light is a must for me. I think there is even a bonus for having it on my helmet, as my head is always moving around.
One watchout, the glue has a low melt point and may turn loose on extremely hot days.

Good luck with your search, and safe riding.

No idea what it was, but my tail light has a clip on it. I put a zip tie on my helmet and can securely mount the light onto the zip tie and remove it to charge the batteries.

I almost bought it today at Bed, Bath, & Beyond, of all places. What I saw is called Bike Brightz. It came in blue, yellow, green, and red.

After searching their web site, I have posted the link below. The product retailed for less than $20 and it was designed to be placed on the down tube and chain stay, but could be adapted for helmet use.

If you have a store close by, look at the front of the store next to check-out. It was there for impulse buying.

The Wheel Britz looked interesting on the web site too.

This is the closest thing I could find - I got it at an LBS for $20. Strapped it to my helmet, looks decent. Will see how it works

I saw this one too - super bright, but little taller and $40

There are the two that come to mind:

Personally, my pref is for bike-mounted rear lights (so they are still highly visible to cars when you look down) and helmet mounted front lights (so you can see around curves, and look at a driver to get their attention). For headlights, look for a Hi/Lo strobe setting. It's great for both getting noticed (all the reflective street signs and road markings start to flicker) and conserving battery, and since the light is always "on" there's no stop-motion strobe effect.

It's most likely the Serfas Thunderbolt. A lot of guys ride with them in Southern California and it's the best/brightest light I've seen. I picked one up a few weeks ago and love it.

It wasn't the thunderbolt, but the thunderbolt is a nice light.

Here is what I did (it is the first light I linked to above):
