Grand Prix 4000 S II Tubular
I was hoping to ride the Continental Grand Prix 4000 S II Tubular (not clincher), but have received conflicting information. One LBS says that the tire will not be available for 6 months (Jan 2015) in the US. Another says that the model name caused confusion and that Continental renamed it the 4000 SR (I had read on a different post that the Grand Prix 4000 S II Tubular was improved over the 4000 SR and had replaced the 4000 SR). Both LBS say they cannot currently obtain the Grand Prix 4000 S II Tubular. Any clarification would be appreciated. Thanks

Looks to be in stock here: http://www.biketiresdirect.com/...00-s-ii-tubular-tire

Schwalbe Ironman tubular is a good backup option. Have they gone to a latex tube in the GP4000s tubular yet?

Thanks GreenPlease. I saw that biketiresdirect claims to have them in stock, and was going to call in the morning.
I was hoping to get some clarification first...If the tires were renamed, maybe that is an older batch.

I'm a big fan of this tire (Have a set on my road bike), but you are still giving up watts with a butyl tube instead of latex.
