Thank you for the release & notes, can't wait to explore files from my soon arriving pm. Here is a screenshot on OS X 10.9.5 .. the upper menubar with it's search bar is somehow double in full screen view ..

.. not a drama, just visible.

With tablets like iPad pro becoming more and more powerful, is there any consideration to making GoldenCheetah an app for tablets? Just curious. Thanks.

That isn't release 3.3 -- there is no compare pane button that was added in v3.1
We also hide the toolbat in fullscreen to avoid this issue from v3.2.

You can download 3.3 here: http://www.goldencheetah.org/#section-download

.. after deleting all app folders on the system (using easyfind.app of DEVONtechnologies) with a complete new install from your link it shows the same as above in fullscreen view on my OS X 10.9.5 1.3GHz i5 Intel HD Graphics 5000. Maybe these informations helps? Thank you for this great APP & Info TOOL!

Will try and recreate, we know the problem, it is a QT bug. But the toolbar should be hidden in fullscreen mode.

Will GC work without a PM such as calculating HRtss on training peaks?

There is no hrTSS, but If you want to use HR there are 3 flavors of TRIMPs available which can be used to build a PMC, the one called "TRIMP (100) Points" is scaled to assign 100 points to 1hr at LTHR.

Really appreciate all the work you and others do to create this wonderful program. Each version of GC gets more polished and powerful. Can't imagine living without it!

Not sure if direct import of .fit swimming files is intended to be supported in this version? I tried importing a couple of .fit swim files and the program appeared to process the files but the distances were all too short and the laps were messed up, the laps were OK in the first part of the file but then were empty towards the latter part of the workout. This is data from a Garmin 910. For now will go back to manually exporting .tcx files out of Garmin Connect. Interestingly, the .fit file did include rpm, whereas the .tcx files don't, that would be nice to have!

Regrettably .fit lap swimming files are a PITA to import: the messages carrying speed and cadence information for each length in some cases seem to come with timestamps not matching those of the lap messages which should contain them, and we don't have yet a solution for this issue. If you can post or send me a sample file I will give it a look.

In the meantime, to have cadence, you can convert from .fit to .pwx format via Device Agent, which doesn't require to be on-line and allow to convert multiple files at once, also you can configure autoimport in GC from the DA output folder so the files are automatically imported at GC startup, as explained at the bottom of: https://github.com/..._Preferences_Athlete

Never played with GC before, thought I'd give it a try.

When syncing with my premium TP account I entered an incorrect password. Upon erring, GC switched to a tiny font size. If I had to guess it'd be 3pt. Given that I'm on a retina macbook pro, I have a feeling it ignored some UI call that scales text and displayed it like I did not have a retina screen.

Robert, have you tried this R package available on CRAN featuring GoldenCheetah v3.3 integration: cycleRtools: Tools for Cycling Data Analysis ?

I saw it a couple of weeks ago but haven't explored it deeply yet. As you can imagine I've written a bunch of my own R functions over the years to do various things so I already have most of the functionality of cycleRtools -- but mine are more idiosyncratic and not at all documented, so this package is pretty cool.

I'm a new power meter user and also jumping in with Golden Cheetah.

One question I have. How many files does GC need before it will give me an estimated critical power? Or is there a setting I'm missing?

If you're new to PM I would forget estimates and do a test.
The estimates need a few maximal anaerobic and aerobic efforts before they are of any value.

Just do a max effort of between ~2 and ~12 minutes and plug the data into the CP calculator under Tools.
