Giro d'Italia - Streaming via Sling

Anyone have any feedback on whether Sling is a decent streaming service? I'm thinking of using it to watch the Giro d'Italia this year

I have Sling TV, formly Dishworld. I have a Roku3 that I connect to my TV to watch universal sports. The iPad App and Roku3 work great. There is inherent DVR service. Where you can just got back up to 8 days and watch any show you want.
Only $10 a month and I got the Roku 3 for $50. I think it is worth it for the Universal Sports (ITU races, marathon, and cycling). The quality is HD, the only small catch is that it is about 2mins delayed from Universal Sports on Dish tv. Which means if you are on Twitter at the same time while watching the race, you might see the sprint winner results on Twitter before the stream shows it.
Oh, there is an Android App. The Dishworld App did not work but they have since upgraded it to the new Sling TV international. I have not really used it as just my phone is android and I dont need to watch on that.

I think sling with Universal sports is $25/month according to their site.

Next races on the schedule: none at the moment

Thanks! I'm going to try the free trial. Having the ITU stuff is a bonus too!

You can just buy the Sling International package for $10...I think. I bought Dishworld a few months ago before the takeover.

Go directly to this link or look for the World Sports Option.

Can you only watch live or on demand as well? Not clear to me from the website.

Less power, more aero.

Its live. There is also the last 8 days of shows on demand. The live is about 2mins delay, so watch out for being on twitter as you watch.

Wouldn't a VPN cost just as much money?

It's complicated. Here's a chart of the on demand options by channel.

In the past, we have used Hola free with Google Chrome to watch UCI and other geo-restricted Cyclocross streams. Hola allows me to set my browsers 'location' to places like the UK, Germany, etc so that the host of the stream thinks my browser is located outside the US.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I do have Universal Sports but so far I only see that the first two stages are on Universal based upon the search mode on Direct TV but normally see further out on coverage that you can pull up. Anyone else seeing the same thing.

I live in the ME and use PIA to access eurosport for all ITU, Ironman and UCI events, then I switch to the US to watch the Masters and US open and then back to UK for wimbledon etc on BBC

VPN is a life saver for expats - in fact it allows me to subscribe to HBO now to see GOT season 5

Something like HideMyAss costs $12 for a month (or less if you get more months), that seems like a steal for a month of Giro coverage. Tune into Sporza and learn Dutch ;) Boom, best coverage you can get in cycling.

Bein Sports is airing the Giro this year, which I paid $12/month for on our old cable system and is included in my current package on the Dish system.
