Giant tcx advanced, Felt fx5 etc for Cyclocross and Training.

I am looking at replacing my 1st generation Cervelo R3 I use as my training bike / winter bike with a CX bike. The R3 is limited clearance wise for 25mm+ tyres, mudguards etc. Also there is a good local cyclocross league and the club I ride for has a strong cyclocross leaning so I am tempted to give it a go next season.

Our club sponsor sells Giant and Genesis bikes so I have been looking at both the Alu and Carbon TCX's (Advanted SX or 2) and the Genesis Vapours. My concern with the Giant bikes is that I have heard they use a few specialist bits - bb, seat post etc. I would want to use my powermeter so if I went for a bike rocking 1 x I would probably need swap out bb for compatible bb and fit my powermeter cranks with a 1 x chainring.

I also have the option of going for a felt FX as a mate is a dealer. Any feedback on the Giants , Genesis's or Felts would be great. I want something that works well enough on the road but I am a competitive buggar so if I raced CX I would want some thing that wasn't limited cx wise.

IMHO, I'd look more to an adventure bike than a CX bike.

I have a Giant TCX Advanced and love it! The Dfuse seatpost is proprietary but you wouldn't want to swap it out as it is great at providing a little vertical flex.
