Garmin 610 watch strap broke--is there a diy repair I can do?
Dont think I have time to send it in to Garmin since I have a race coming up in less than 2 weeks. Is there some type of tape or glue or whatever that someone has done to repair their strap? The strap seems to have stretched around where the metal pins enter the strap from the watch and no longer hold reliably. Ideas?

Same thing happened to my 410, the pin was still holding a bit, so for a while I (very tightly) wrapped waterproof electrical tape a few times around it and it was fine.
Later I removed the pin and used waterproof epoxy to fix it permanently, been a couple of years and its still holding strong.

Pretty sure I saw a post on DC rainmakers site that garmin sells replacement straps now. So there's that option.
