It adds up to about 315 miles total over 3 days. Compare that to Ultraman with 320 miles over 3 days. However, the proposed format breaks up each event in a way that seems easier to accomplish than Ultraman. That said, it seems silly to limit entrants to 400 when this is the kind of event that will attract maybe 50, not to mention that even the GFT (by the same organizer) can't pull in 200.

Interesting. Might be fun to do as part of a relay.

A little too pricey for me. Love to do it, though.

I can tell by the course start and stopping points that the first 2 swims will be safe. It will start at the site of the Crystal River Sprint Races with the swim being in a very warm and shallow Gulf of Mexico. I have done this series often. http://drcsports.com/race/crystal-river-triathlon-series-sprint-1-2015-05-23 for maps of the Gulf Island Beach. The bike will end at Carney Island in Ocala which is the location of the HITS Ocala Triathlon series, with the run ending day one on the Full Distance run course and the swim starting day 2 on the lake for HITS Full Triathlon distance race series. http://hitstriathlonseries.com/ocala-fl/ I have done the Olympic race and volunteered for the Full/Half there. After that I am not familiar with day 3 swim but if it's appears it is the site of the Hammerhead Olympic Triathlon at Camp Blanding. If so, I have not done that race but have heard good things about it so it should be a clear smooth swim. http://hammerheadolympictriathlon.com/
My only issue is Sommer Sports has problems putting on events they are not 100% familiar with and even then they sometimes have issues. That being said I am going to keep this as a possibility for 2017. Depends on how IMFL goes in 2 weeks.

I'd love to do it, but I can't pay that much for a race.

Camp Blanding is the site for Hammerhead race. Quiet lake, no current, etc. It's a military camp and very quiet and clean.
Great swim venue!
