Felt 2012 B16 cable routing question
Apologies if this is a stupid question - I did search around the forum and couldn't find an answer, so here goes...

I'm going to be replacing my stock basebar soon, which got me wondering about the cable routing situation for the rear brake. On the B16 will I need to slide a small sleeve over the existing cable and feed the new cable through, or is the cable routing guide fixed into the frame?

I'm led to believe it has fixed routing inside the frame, but for my own peace of mind I'd love to hear from anyone who's recabled their B16 before I do it myself.

Thanks!

Did you intend to replace the cable housing?
There is a guide but in general for internally routed frames that are already routed I'd recommend using the old housing as a guide to route the new by "coupling" the new housing with an inner wire and pulling it through.

I can't remember if mine is a 2012 or 2011, but for me it was as easy as pull the old housing out,... measure the new one.... put it in. The interior guides were perfect!

Thanks for the replies SuperDave and Hardidu.

I don't need to replace the housing, only the inner cable. Does that mean that the cable housing runs all the way through the frame, right from the port behind the stem all the way to where it comes out near the bottom bracket? I'd assumed the housing is only where the cable is outside the frame.

I've replaced the cables in my 2009 B16 several times (brake and shifter). The housings should go the whole length, just pull out the cable and slide the new one in.... then it pops out the other end :)
