52.5 as an untrained ( by modern standards) 16 year old for 440 yards ( a bit longer than 400 meters). So what? Now I am 65.

57 seconds when I was 15 at the end of tennis season. Basically untrained. My brother did a 48.

Pretty bad apparently... 74... but this is the first time I sprinted on a track. Did a mile warm up prior too.

Good for 3rd place at state little athletics in the 10 years age group.
40 odd years ago but I can still vividly remember the time for some reason as well as the song "you're so vain" by Carly Simon being played on a radio nearby just before the race. Whenever I hear that now I can close my eyes and I'm back at that athletics field. Funny how memories like that are strong yet things that happens last week or even yesterday are fuzzy.

Never run a timed 400 since.

No big story. A few days before the Arcadia Invitational (high school), I was checking out the track and running some intervals with my distance medley team (I was the 3-lap guy that year). She was running sprints. Started talking to her - she was already moderately famous by that point, at least amongst high schoolers. Led to trash talking. 400m was decided as a a fair intermediate distance between a sprint and long distance. We ran - awkward, skinny, pimply white boy vs. nubian goddess. I put everything into it, and ran a PR. But she was just toying with me. She missed a doping test that year (in high school!) so I consider myself one of the fist victims of Marian's doping.

:55. Do you all mainly race short course or longer courses in triathlon? Curious to see the correlation, though it looks like many haven't tried in a while.

Probably ~63 seconds en route to a crappy 800 m in high school. Doubt I could go any faster now...

The 400 is a painful race.

52.5 in high school, didn't make the 4x400 A-team and couldn't travel, which was unusual for my area. Year after I graduate 53 somethin is the fastest 400 run all year in my conference. Small school.

The 400m was my run of choice, my personal best ever was :47.2

Ran a 50.8 my high school senior year -- my only season not cut short by shin splints. And I always thought I was somebody... until this thread.
